Manifesting your best life

As a strong proponent of the law of attraction and universal energies, I believe that our current state – whether mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, financial or whatever else it may be – is a direct result of our thoughts and the signals we set out.

You can do, be and have anything you want in life. All you have to do is think it into existence. 

The power of thought is incredible. The way you wire your mindset and personal outlook in any given situation reflects the way you define your circumstance. I believe that the key to a fulfilling life lies in mastering inner manifestation and mindfulness.

I’ve never personally identified with a particular religion strongly enough to follow its teachings but instead found my faith in a spiritual sense. I think we all universally agree that there could be something (or someone) greater than us that guides our life; who or what you choose that to be for you comes down to personal preference. For me that happens to be universal energy – an undefinable concept based on intuition and feeling.

The idea very much resembles the premise of Coelho’s The Alchemist: when you desire something with your whole self, the entire universe conspires to help you.  Whether this be good health, a personal goal, a change in the community, the presence of a certain someone, etc. the power of how you perceive it is how you will receive it. By becoming very clear about what it is that you want to see be brought to life; and by defining it, envisioning it, and acting on it in positive light, you are attracting it into reality. Communicate with the universe because the universe listens and sends everything that is meant for you your way, at the right time.

The first time I ever heard about the concept of the law of attraction was in 2014 when I discovered The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Built on the premise of ‘ask and you shall receive’, Byrne, along with other thinkers, writes about the power of manifesting your desired life through thought. She discusses how we often sell ourselves short in life due to societal distractions, expectations, negative perceptions and norms and instead encourages us to achieve our highest potential and fulfillment through our individual mindsets. Byrne truly captures the secret to life in my opinion. If there’s ever a book you read on well-being, let it be The Secret.

The concept of the law of attraction is widely known. Albert Einstein said, “Your imagination is your preview of life’s coming attractions.” In her international bestseller The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin states, “What you love you empower. What you fear you empower. What you empower you attract.”

You can very easily think your desired life into existence with the power of thought.

The law of attraction goes hand in hand with mindfulness. Your life is shaped by not your circumstances but by your attitude and reactions to these circumstances. While the law of attraction allows you to manifest your desired life, mindfulness is what determines whether you receive it and how you do. When you become fully mindful of the present moment and grateful for what you’ve already been given, you make room for new things to flourish.

If you’re interested in exploring this phenomenon some more, I highly recommend reading Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese monk who devoted his entire life to spreading peace and compassion in the world through mindfulness. I guarantee it will change your perspective entirely.

There is truly nothing you can’t be, do, or have in life and when you begin to understand what that means for you and how you can use the power of thought to control your current state, you open yourself up to living your best life.
